18-Year-Old “Michael Dakorah” Sentenced To 15 Years For Robbery

Michael Dakorah an 18-year-old boy who happens to be a Senior High School student has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the Obuasi Circuit court for robbery.
The accused who is identified as Michael Dakorah was said to have launched the attack together with a friend of his on a motor rider and robbed him of his motorbike on the road between Kwapia and Aketekyieso in the Adansi North District.
Michael Dakorah was, however, arrested by the youth of Aketekyieso when news reached the community about the robbery incident.
The judge presiding over the case, Her Ladyship Ms. Joyce Boahen charged the accused of robbery on his own plea after he pleaded guilty to the crime.
The Obuasi District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr. Martin Asenso said that the operation was carried out on the 8th of April 2021 after the convict and his accomplice hired the serviced of the okada rider to be taken to Aketekyieso.
He said while they were on their way, the accomplice intentionally dropped his slippers on the way and asked the rider to stop so he goes back for it.
He said that the convict pulled out a knife and his accomplice also pulled out a pepper spray and sprayed it in the eyes of the rider and making away with his motorcycle.
The victim reported the robbery to the people of Aketekyieso and the youth in the community laid an ambush which helped them in apprehending the convict while his accomplice is on the run.
