33-Year-Old Nurse Brutally Murdered By ‘Wee Smokers’ In Walewale”
In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the town of Walewale in the North East Region, a 33-year-old nurse, Salifu Abdulai, known by his nickname ‘Expensive,’ met a tragic end at the hands of a group of individuals allegedly involved in marijuana consumption, colloquially known as ‘Wee Smokers.’
The dreadful event unfolded on the fateful evening of Sunday, October 8, 2023, in the vicinity of Walewale Moshifong. Salifu Abdulai had a fatal encounter with the ‘Wee Smokers’ following a heated dispute.
Reports suggest that a confrontation escalated to a violent assault, resulting in Mr. Abdulai sustaining severe head injuries from blunt objects. Following the altercation, the assailants allegedly left him injured and abandoned in the vicinity.
However, Salifu’s courageous co-tenants acted swiftly, rushing him to the Walewale District Hospital around 7 PM on that very Sunday. Recognizing the severity of his condition, medical professionals at the local hospital decided to transfer him to the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH). It is worth noting that Salifu Abdulai had previously been employed at the Savelugu Municipal Hospital in the Northern Region before his transfer to the Walewale Municipal Hospital in 2022.
The Walewale cemetery, situated in proximity to Moshifong, has become an area of concern due to its association with gatherings of ‘Wee Smokers’ who frequently retreat to the nearby forests to engage in the consumption of marijuana and substances such as tramadol.
