Akufo-Addo attends Sierra Leone’s 60th Independence celebration

Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic, left Ghana on Monday, April 26th, 2021, to attend Sierra Leone’s 60th independence anniversary celebrations.
In his capacity as Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Governments, the President is attending the gathering.
He was accompanied by Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and officials from the Presidency and the Foreign Ministry.
On Tuesday, April 27th, 2021, President Akufo-Addo and his delegation will return to Ghana.
In the absence of the President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic, will serve in his place in compliance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution.
