Akufo-Addo’s Governance Criticized As Incompetence And Arrogance, Says John Mahama

John Mahama, the former President and NDC Flagbearer for the upcoming 2024 elections, has voiced his concerns about the impact of the Akufo-Addo-led government on the people of Ghana. Mahama asserts that the present administration has burdened Ghanaians with the repercussions of their perceived incompetence, lack of direction, and unapologetic arrogance.
Mahama lamented, “The promises made during their campaign remain largely unfulfilled, leaving ordinary Ghanaians grappling with the consequences of what appears to be an administration marred by incompetence, a lack of direction, and an alarming disregard for accountability. Today, we witness a disheartening trend where some Ghanaians are compelled to accept and rationalize corruption due to its apparent pervasiveness within our society, perpetuated by the NPP.”
He emphasized the current plight of the Ghanaian populace, remarking, “More than ever, the lives of our citizens are characterized by the daily struggle to secure a livelihood. The cost of living continues to soar, and job opportunities are increasingly scarce.”
During a Facebook Live session held on Wednesday morning, the former President reiterated the importance of active participation by Ghanaians in the upcoming Limited Voters’ Registration Exercise, scheduled by the Electoral Commission to commence on September 12, 2023.
Mahama stated, “Registering and obtaining a Voter ID card is not just a fundamental civic duty; it is an obligation that we owe to our nation. You and I share a collective responsibility to wield our votes judiciously, holding our leaders accountable and demanding the transformative change we so urgently require. The impending Limited Voter Registration, facilitated by the Electoral Commission, represents a pivotal opportunity to initiate the process of amplifying your voices and shaping the future of our beloved nation, Ghana.”
In light of Mahama’s impassioned plea, the need for active civic engagement in shaping Ghana’s future has gained renewed prominence on the national agenda.
