A new directive from the upper east regional coordinating council has banned the wearing of Smock. This is as a result that, people hide weapons in Smocks and attack opponents and innocent civilians.
In a press meeting on Tuesday, the regional minister cautioned the people of Bawku to comply with the new directive.
He added that MUSEC is to ensure the enforcement of the directive. Also, anyone who fails to comply will face the law.
Currently, there is curfew in Bawku. The people sleep at 4 pm and wake up at 6 am. This is as a result of a chieftaincy dispute that happened over the weekend.
