Father Arrested For Causing Severe Burns To His 3yr Daughter

A 35-year-old father believed to be a Togolese has allegedly caused severe burns to his 3-year-old daughter. To his defends, he claims that the child does not obey him.

This incident took place in a small town called Ahansoyewodea in the Obuasi East District of the Ashanti Region.

According to reports, the father placed his daughter in hot water as punishment for her disobedience behaviors at home. However, the Togolese father refused to admit to causing physical harm to his daughter. He rather laments how his daughter disrespects him at home.

Speaking to Adom News, the father said; “Her mother has taught her not to respect me, now when I want her to do something or take something for me, she ignores me.” 

 “If I find food right now, she will come closer to eat and if she wants to attend to nature’s call or urinate, she will release them on herself,” he added.

The suspect who is currently in police custody said, his daughter has been living with her mother in Togo for some time now. He also wanted to gain control over his daughter but all efforts proved futile. As a result to he subjecting her to torture.

The Commander at Obuasi Division of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit, Supt. Coledeus Adagbe revealed that the man has been arrested as police continue to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, the victim has been admitted to the Obuasi Government Hospital for treatment of the wounds.
