Ali, a popular Date Rush contestant, has said that some of his family members have severed relations with him as a result of his decision to compete on the reality show Date Rush.
These individuals, he claims, believe that partaking in such a show is against Islam’s precepts.
“My family has always advised me against pursuing a career in the entertainment world. Even when I first started performing at a young age, my parents threatened to disown me if I didn’t stop.
Some members of my family are still upset that I took part in Date Rush. He revealed to Elsie Lamar on the Talkertainment program that they have refused to communicate with him and have cut off all lines of communication with him.
He added, “The first time my mother saw me on stage, she called to ask if I wanted to be in a performance like this.
She questioned why I would look for a woman on national television. Unfortunately for me, the show aired during Ramadan, and she questioned why I would do such a thing during such a holy month.
Despite being disappointed by the negative response, Ali went on to remark that he had no regrets about his decision to participate in the show.
