Sarkodie, a multi-award-winning rapper from Ghana, has addressed the criticism that some of his countrymen have levelled at him for being parsimonious with his wealth. Sarkodie in an interview confessed his personality sometimes doesn’t fit his position as a celebrity and in showbiz.

“How I am as Michael doesn’t go with the job I took, cos the job I took is showbiz, there are sometimes I have to do which I can’t do. Seems like you are lying and I can’t do that,” he said.

Even though most of them have negative motives, he said, Africans adore those who constantly toss money around.

Sarkodie established the fact that throwing money to fans when the camera is on looks like a disrespectful way of giving out money. But the rapper made it clear that if he actually has money and wants to share it, he has his own manner of doing it without making a show of it.

Sarkodie also took a stand, stating that he wouldn’t feel compelled to give out money just because there were cameras there or because he was being criticized for being frugal.

King Sark claims that he supports people in the proper way because it makes him feel good.
