Kennedy Agyapong Poised To Outshine Bawumia In Presidential Flagbearer Race, Predicts A-Plus

Renowned entrepreneur and entertainment commentator, Kwame A-Plus, has made a bold prediction suggesting that Kennedy Agyapong, the prominent figure behind Assin Central, will emerge victorious in the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential flagbearer competition, surpassing the popularity of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
A-Plus asserts that Kennedy Agyapong wields a considerable influence among the grassroots, a factor that has significantly contributed to the NPP’s triumphs in previous elections.
He highlights that a substantial portion of the 900 delegates who cast their votes during the super delegates conference were individuals holding government appointments. These delegates, he argues, felt compelled to back Vice President Bawumia to safeguard their positions.
“The unsurprising outcome stems from the fact that a majority of the 900 delegates were individuals holding government appointments. Opting for Bawumia was not just a choice, but a necessity for them to retain their positions,” A-Plus shared on UTV’s United Showbiz, hosted by MzGee.
Anticipating the unfolding political scenario, A-Plus projects that Kennedy Agyapong’s absence from a campaign spells doom for any contender’s prospects. In his view, Kennedy Agyapong’s significance transcends regular boundaries; his support is pivotal for any successful electoral campaign. A-Plus even goes so far as to suggest that if Kennedy Agyapong were to venture into an independent candidacy, his backing could even surpass that of the NPP.
A-Plus predicts that Kennedy Agyapong’s sway within grassroots circles will serve as the bedrock for his triumph over Bawumia in the upcoming presidential primaries.
“During the campaigning period, Kennedy Agyapong’s connection with the grassroots was undeniable. While others were engrossed in their own political strategies, he was deeply engaged with the grassroots. Following his triumph over Ala, Kennedy Agyapong’s next conquest will be against Bawumia,” A-Plus confidently forecasts.
In the Super Delegates Conference of the NPP, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia clinched the lead with a substantial 629 votes, accounting for 68.15% of the total.
Kennedy Agyapong secured a commendable 132 votes, equating to 14.30%, while Alan Kyerematen garnered 95 votes (10.29%). Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto occupied fourth place with 36 votes (3.90%). Boakye Agyarko and Francis Addai-Nimoh both shared fifth place, amassing 9 votes each, totaling 0.98% of the votes.
The Super Delegates Conference was an endeavor to streamline the field of 10 NPP candidates down to five, who would contend for the coveted candidacy in the forthcoming 2024 general elections, scheduled for November.
In conclusion, the evolving political landscape suggests that Kennedy Agyapong’s rising prominence and grassroots rapport could potentially set him on a trajectory to surpass even the current frontrunners, reshaping the dynamics of the NPP’s internal competition and the broader political spectrum.
