Volta River Authority Has Issued New Measures to Eliminate Corona Virus (COVID-19) – Akosombo

V.R.A has issued a notice letter and announce within the township to the general public in Akosombo as notice for the lockdown of Akosombo and new combine market.

These decisions were taken at an Emergency AMC meeting that was held on March 19th, 2020 on how to prevent COVID-19 hence the incident that was reported at the Eastern Regional Health Directorate in the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the Lower Manya Krobo area.

“Volta River Authority with immediate effect advice that the Akosomb and New-Combine market will be closed till further notice from 1:00 Monday, April 13, 2020.” The notice further informs all residents of Akosombo to stock up necessary requirements.

Due to the dangerous nature of this pandemic (COVID-19) and cases of it that keep increasing both cities far and around Akosombo township.

This has spooked Volta River Authority (V.R.A) and other authorities to ascend strategically health measures to ensure the safety and well-being of Akosombo natives.

We hope all locals take note of this information and cooperate and comply with these new actions being implemented.
