“VRA @ 60” Anniversary Launch

Volta River Authority (VRA) has launched its 60 years of being the main power supply channel in Ghana. However, the anniversary lunch was commenced with an amazing ceremony, cultural display, and many interesting activities.
Volta River Authority held the 60th Anniversary Launch event in grand style with lots of honorable guests and speakers.
The first speaker at this special ceremony was Mr. Kweku Andoh Awotwi Board Chairman of Volta River Authority. Mr. Kweku Andoh said VRA has accomplished many great deals in the last 60 years. He revealed that VRA has served as the bedrock to Ghana’s industrial development.
Accordingly, he showed appreciation to the guest of honor Yaw Osafo–Maafo Senior Minister of the Republic of Ghana. Mr. Kweku Andoh also thanked the Minister of Energy and his deputy, as well as the planning committee, for organizing such a spectacular gathering.
Mr. Emmauel Antwi Dankwa Chief Executive of V.R.A in his speech also explained the upholding works of Volta River Authority this 60 years.
Also, he said, “Today you can count nearly 60 years of lighting up homes and adding value to life”.
He went saying that VRA is proud of the fact that it has operated independently for the past 60 years. “What sets us apart is that we plan, develop, execute, and operate all by ourselves,” he said.
Honorable Yaw Osafo–Maafo also congratulated Volta River Authority for their tremendous work in keeping the Akosombo Dam running for these 60 years.
Furthermore, the ceremony was graced by other special guests and speakers like Dr. I. Stella Agyenim Boateng and Kwame Sefa kayi as the host.
VRA has played an active involvement when it comes to economic growth and stability in Ghana. The event took place at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
